Microsoft pulls a couple of Sony in related domains, Internet runs amok with rumors

Company tore up domain names, to protect their brand is nothing new, nor is particularly interesting (unless that company happens to be Bank of America, and the domain in question is BrianMoynihanSucks.com). But the last a couple of the recent registrations of Microsoft has aroused our curiosity. The folks at Redmond Microsoft Sony.com and Sony Microsoft.com that has spurred speculation that anything from a Sony-Ericsson raising is picked up listeners on a playlist box 720 on the way. The move is notable even if only because the company have not similar domains such as Microsoft.com LG or HTC Microsoft.com. Of course, could it something so banal as a joint marketing campaign for Sony laptops or nothing überhaupt-- we have to just wait and see.
